Frequently asked questions
Everything people usually ask before their first clean. Can't find your answer? Call us on 0409 008 303.
How often should my bins be cleaned?
For general waste bins we recommend a clean every month, more often in summer when heat speeds up the smell and the maggots. Recycling and green waste bins usually only need a clean every couple of months. Book a one-off clean whenever they need it, no contract required.
Do I need to be home?
No. Just leave your bins out at the kerb after collection day and we'll clean them right there from our truck. Most of our customers are at work when we visit.
Why do you clean the day after collection?
Bins need to be empty for us to clean them properly, and they aren't empty until the council truck has been. Cleaning the day after collection means your bins are guaranteed empty and you get a full cycle of freshness before they fill up again. Our booking calendar works this out for you automatically.
What if my bin isn't empty when you arrive?
No problem — we carry a spare bin on the truck. If yours still has rubbish in it, we'll transfer it into the spare, give your bin the full clean, and pop everything back when we're done. You still get the complete service.
How do you actually clean the bins?
Each bin is lifted into our purpose-built truck and blasted inside and out with high-pressure water heated to 120°C, which kills 99.9% of germs including Salmonella, E. coli and Weil's disease. Then we sterilise and deodorise it. All the dirty water is captured in the truck and disposed of responsibly — nothing goes down your street drain.
Is it safe for kids and pets?
Yes. The clean removes the bacteria and smells that attract flies, maggots, rats and mice, and your bin is left sterilised and fresh. There's no harsh chemical residue left on the bin.
Do you clean glass (purple lid) bins?
Yes. If you have a purple-lid glass bin, we'll clean it just like your others, just add it when you book. Glass bins are currently provided in the Surf Coast and Golden Plains shires. Greater Geelong and Wyndham don't have them yet (they're due by 2027), so for now glass goes in your yellow recycling bin in those areas.
What does it cost?
$150 covers up to 3 bins, then $30 for each extra bin, one simple flat rate. No lock-in and no contracts, just book a one-off clean whenever your bins need it.
How do I pay?
After the clean is done, no payment up front. Pay by cash on the day or by bank transfer, whichever suits you.
What happens if it's raining?
A bit of rain doesn't stop us. If the weather is severe enough that we can't work safely, we'll contact you and reschedule for the next best day.
Do you clean commercial or body corporate bins?
Yes — we clean bins for businesses, body corporates and shared properties across Geelong to Werribee. Call us for a tailored quote.
